September

Happy September!!!

I am both elated and mildly terrified that it’s here. OMG there is so much to do! There’s this whole sequel-writing thing, and people are starting to get ARCs and read BORN WICKED, and I did not do ALL THE THINGS in August the way I wanted to. In fact, I do not really have a new-lifestyle routine in place yet! Yesterday I was feeling very emo-hedgehog-y about it all.

But you know what?

CHIN UP, BUTTERCUP.

(That is one of the things I tell myself when I am feeling overwhelmed. You have random inspirational mantras too, right?)

Let’s make a YAY, SEPTEMBER! list instead. Ready?

YAY, SEPTEMBER! REASONS I LOVE YOU

Boots
Sweaters
Dresses and tights and cardis
Open windows
Drinking hot tea instead of iced tea
A new yoga studio that opened 5 blocks from my house
Apples and butternut squash (and apple-squash soup)
Football (okay I don’t really watch football, but I like it as background noise)
My five-year anniversary, which we may well celebrate by going to Truckeroo
Two bridal showers and a baby shower
A workshop production of The Playwright’s new play WHEN THE STARS GO OUT
The NEA Heritage Festival
Taffety Punk’s all-girl MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
H Street Fest
LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR (Sept 29)
DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE (Sept 27)
THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER (Sept 27)
GOLIATH (Sept 20)
ASHES (today) (I read the first 100 pages online & I was SO CREEPED OUT.)
Plus ANNA DRESSED IN BLOOD and THE FOX INHERITANCE which released last week
New episodes of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES  (Damon!)

My goals for September are:

hit 50,000 words on book2 (I am currently at 12k)
yoga twice a week
make more time for reading (blogs do not count)(neither does Twitter)
(let’s say I will read 8 books this month!)

Thing I Am Not Doing in September: giving up soda. I went three days without Diet Coke and I was very unhappy.

What about you? How do you feel about September? What book releases and/or TV shows and/or GOALS ACCOMPLISHED are you looking forward to?
