Friday Finds #3
Here are a few of my favorite finds this week:
art: This ANNE OF GREEN GABLES wedding photo shoot (found via Genn Albin)
purchase: Crannyberry tea (it has cranberries + raspberries + black tea and it smells so amazing!)
reading: BLACK CITY by Elizabeth Richards (which I am loving – the dystopian world-building here is fascinating, and the forbidden romance is so swoony!). Also, you should totally check out the gorgeous cover reveal for the sequel, PHOENIX, which I am going to be begging Editor Ari for asap!
books out this week that I most want to buy: SEND ME A SIGN by Tiffany Schmidt and STEALING PARKER by Miranda Kenneally – I loved both of them! (Tiffany & Miranda are friends of mine, but I wouldn’t say this if it weren’t true, promise!)
watching: HART OF DIXIE is back! Yay!
also watching: Last night we went to the NEA Heritage Concert, which is an amazing annual celebration of the American folk and traditional arts. Last night they honored a dobro player, a klezmer clarinetist, a basketweaver, and a shipwright, among others! If you’re in DC, I highly suggest keeping an eye out for this event next fall! It’s so wonderful to be reminded of what a melting pot of cultures this country is.
working on: taking a break. STAR CURSED went to copyedits today! Guys, I worked my ass off on this book. Writing my first book under deadline and my first middle book in a trilogy was hard; it challenged me about twelve times more than anything I’d ever written before. There were parts where I doubted whether I’d ever love it. But I do. I am so proud of it. I can’t wait (in, um, a slightly vomity nervous way) for you all to read it. And there’ll be a cover to show off soon, I hear!
contemplating: a lot of stuff about mindfulness and meditation as I try to get a handle on this upswing of anxiety.
looking forward to: taking a walk and then having a glass or two of wine tonight!
What about you?
P.S. Sorry the font keeps changing! I don’t know how to fix it, gah.
Hart of Dixie! I’m so jealous! We’ve just finished watching season one here in the UK and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Love that show! But I have Merlin back on TV tonight, which I also adore!
Ooh, I haven't watched MERLIN. My only UK shows are SHERLOCK and DOWNTON ABBEY!
Yay! Congratulations on finishing the second one in the series! I loved, loved, LOVED the first one and am anxiously awaiting the second one:o) Also, I love your blog posts.
So I don't sleep very well, so I've been reading a lot of books and watching movies/tv shows when I can't sleep, and I've been reading Something Strange and Deadly with my husband, and I've been reading the Shadow Falls series (which are an awesome paranormal read, by the way). I've been catching up on Grey's Anatomy, and my husband and I recently started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the tv series.
That's probably way more than you wanted to know! Anyway, I hope you have a very relaxing break, and way to go on finishing Star Cursed–yay you!
You are awesome!
Ooh, I loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I watched it all the summer after college when it was on in reruns constantly. Season 3 is my favorite, I think!
Thank you so much for reading my blog – and especially for reading BORN WICKED! I'm so happy that you liked it! 😀
I was so sure I left a comment on this post….ugh technology.
