Fall Books

Hey, you know what I don’t love? Hives. Swollen eyes and itchy red skin and a non-working A/C. Thank God for fans, thunderstorms, and Benadryl. But I promised a post about the fall books I’m looking forward to most, right? Here goes. These are books I’ve been waiting for FOREVER and they are almost here!

The Treasure Map of Boys by E. Lockhart (releases today!) Third book in the adventures of Ruby Oliver, after The Boyfriend List and The Boy Book. I want Roo to be my best friend.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (official release August 1, but in stock!) Paranormal romance in which a girl falls in love with a boy who must become a wolf every winter. I keep hearing it described as "haunting," "tender," "lyrical," and other lovely adjectives.

Ruined by Paula Morris (official release August 1, but in stock!) New Orleans. Ghosts. A character named Lisette. WANT.

Lipstick Apology by Jennifer Jabaley (August 6) Emily’s parents die in a plane crash, and her mom leaves a mysterious note in lipstick: Emily, please forgive me. Forgive her for what? I wanna find out. Seriously, this hook had me from hello.

Blood Promise
by Richelle Mead (August 25) The fourth book in the Vampire Academy series. Unlike a certain other vampire series, these just keep getting better and better.

Rampant by Diana Peterfreund (August 25) Killer unicorns must be slain by virgin descendants of Alexander the Great.

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (Sept. 1) Sequel to The Hunger Games, one of my favorite books of 2008. I don’t care who you are, you should read these two books.

Candor by Pam Bachorz (Sept. 22) Teens in the town of Candor are governed by subliminal messages, but Oscar’s out to save the new girl from turning into another cookie-cutter chick.

Ash by Malinda Lo (Sept. 1) A lesbian retelling of Cinderella in which she falls in love with the king’s huntress.

Crashed by Robin Wasserman (Sept. 8) Sequel to Skinned. After her mind’s been downloaded into a new mechanical body and her friends and family have rejected her, Lia joins the mech rebellion.

What books are on your must-have list? What am I missing?
