Summer Reading
Yay! I won THREE books this week! They are:
The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams (from St. Martin’s Press)
Faery Rebels: Spell Hunter by R.J. Anderson (from the author)
Dull Boy by Sarah Cross (from Elizabeth Scott)
I’m super-excited to get them. I’ll be adding these to the tippity-top of my TBR pile, along with Fragile Eternity, Peace Love and Baby Ducks, Pure, Wintergirls, and Tap & Gown.
I am behind on my reading. I brought three books with me to the beach last weekend and didn’t touch any of them. My brain feels over-full right now with moving plans and revision plans and house-buying details. I’m having a hard time relaxing into another world, letting go my deathgrip on my to-do lists. I haven’t done any writing either. It’s making me a little grumpy, frankly.
Instead I dived headfirst into a pile of magazines at the beach: Real Simple, Food & Wine, Southern Living, Glamour, and Elle. Glamour’s my guilty pleasure. Southern Living has awesome recipes (hello, blackberry-peach coffee cake). The others were borrowed from friends. Except Elle, which I have to confess I really can’t get into. I bought the subscription because I ordered one for my sister A for Christmas and it was super-cheap to get two, but I’m mostly recycling them and should really cancel it.
What about you? Do you read any paper magazines? Which ones?
Ooh, and does anyone recommend any home-decorating blogs? I’m starting to look for ideas for the house.
