Hi! I’m back from an amazing long weekend at a writing retreat near Front Royal, VA. Six of my best writer-friends and I rented a big log cabin and spent the time writing, reading, talking about writing and publishing, reading scenes from our upcoming books or WIPs, drinking wine, eating cheese, hanging out in the hot tub, and coming up with both short- and long-term career goals. We also, as those of you who follow me on Twitter might have seen, had an unexpected guest in the form of Bartholomew the Bat. There was a whole adventure that involved poking him with bamboo poles, throwing blueberries out the door in an attempt to guide him, eventually covering him with a blanket, and a kind sheriff (or a sheriff’s officer?) who came and freed him.
Anyway! I got good news while I was gone – BORN WICKED sold in Japan! That’s our twelfth foreign sale (you can find the other countries where it’ll be published here, at the bottom of the page), and I’m so excited that more readers will get to meet Cate and her sisters and Finn!
I was also inspired by my friend Tiffany Schmidt (author of the fabulous SEND ME A SIGN), who’s running a Send Me a Signature giveaway!
Are YOU giving BORN WICKED as a gift this holiday (even to yourself)? If so – THANK YOU! That makes me so happy! And (if you’re in the US or Canada), if you fill out this form before December 16, I’ll send you a personalized bookplate and some signed bookmarks to help make the gift extra-special! (If you have any trouble with the form, please email me at cahillwitch at gmail dot com.)
