Thrice Interview + Giveaway: THE HEIRESSES

Hi! Today we’re celebrating the release of Allison Rushby’s THE HEIRESSES, which came out last Tuesday!

They say:

The HeiressesIn Allison Rushby’s HEIRESSES, three triplets—estranged since birth—are thrust together in glittering 1926 London to fight for their inheritance, only to learn they can’t trust anyone—least of all each other.

When three teenage girls, Thalia, Erato and Clio, are summoned to the excitement of fast-paced London—a frivolous, heady city full of bright young things—by Hestia, an aunt they never knew they had, they are shocked to learn they are triplets and the rightful heiresses to their deceased mother’s fortune. All they need to do is find a way to claim the fortune from their greedy half-brother, Charles. But with the odds stacked against them, coming together as sisters may be harder than they think.

I say: I just finished reading THE HEIRESSES! It combines several of my favorite elements – squabbling sisters (in this case triplets!) and a mysterious inheritance and a fabulous historical setting. Rushby paints a fascinating portrait of high-society London during the Roaring Twenties, as the girls come of age in a new world of lipstick and bobbed hair and motorcars…and costume parties, drug addiction, and sex. It’s an immensely fun, frothy read; I was desperate to find out the mysteries behind the girls’ birth, and even though I pieced together part of it, there were still twists and turns that surprised me. I loved how wildly different the three sisters are – clever schoolgirl Ro, cruel flapper Thalia, and sheltered misfit Clio – and how they’re alternately deeply loyal and at each others’ throats. And their aunt, Lady Hestia, is a wonderful, fierce character in her own right. Recommend – especially if you like DOWNTON ABBEY or GATSBY!

Oh i read all of the Sweet VAlley High in high school but have to agree with the Weasley twins and the Black triplets too.

My favourite twins would definitely be the Weasley twins. I bawled my eyes out when Fred died. (Potterhead at its finest!). I also find The Twins from the matrix hilarious as well! With the triplets it would definitely be the Powerpuff girls

  5. i also have to go with Fred and George Weasley — because they are the wickedest awesome of ever…and plus, like Finn Belastra, they are GINGERS! 🙂 and I LOVE GINGERS! 🙂 <3

My favorite fictional twins… Wow, I have been drawn to twins for so long! I love reading about them. I honestly think mine are also Jess and Liz from Sweet Valley High/Senior Year. I had so much fun reading about their adventures, craaaazy as most of them usually were. I wanted to be like a mix of them both, and I admired them a lot as a kid/pre-teen!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I’ve really been wanting to read this book.
