I’m currently working on a new project that I’m super excited about, and I’m hoping to have more news to share soon. In the meantime, the best place to find and connect with me online is Instagram.

On Balance & Writing & Breaks & Anxiety & Hobbies

I love writing. It’s always been the thing that’s made me feel most like ME. I lose hours and afternoons at it. I am so, so lucky to be making a job out of the thing I love. But sometimes, it complicates things. My deadlines have been very fast – a little less so now that STAR CURSED has been pushed back to June instead of February, but things were crazy with BORN WICKED. It’s really common for books to take 18 months or more from sale to publication. I had 11 months. I was finishing edits before many authors would even get their first edit letter. I’m grateful for it, because I am awful at waiting. But Editor Ari’s amazing lightning-fast turn-arounds has meant I rarely have more than a few days off. I’ve been working on STAR CURSED for over a year, and I haven’t had more than two weeks...

Thrice Interview: BUTTER

Hi all! Today we’re celebrating the release (last week, while I was in the deadline cave) of Erin Jade Lange’s BUTTER. I haven’t had a chance to read this yet, but it sounds powerful: A lonely obese boy everyone calls “Butter” is about to make history. He is going to eat himself to death-live on the Internet-and everyone is invited to watch. When he first makes the announcement online to his classmates, Butter expects pity, insults, and possibly sheer indifference. What he gets are morbid cheerleaders rallying around his deadly plan. Yet as their dark encouragement grows, it begins to feel a lot like popularity. And that feels good. But what happens when Butter reaches his suicide deadline? Can he live with the fallout if he doesn’t go through with his plans? With a deft hand, E.J. Lange allows readers to identify with both the bullies and the bullied in this all-consuming...

Thrice Interview: TORCHED

Hi! Today we’re celebrating the release of my friend Andrea Lynn Colt’s book TORCHED. Rose Whitfield’s senior year just went up in smoke. Instead of having a blast with her best friend, her cheerleading squad, and her boyfriend Ryan, she’s framed for arson. Popularity and criminal records don’t mix, apparently. Luckily, Rose knows exactly who’s framing her: Paxton Callaway. Paxton and Rose have spent years locked in a war of practical jokes. This time he’s gone too far. Rose sets out to prove her innocence, win Ryan back, and take Paxton down hard. Not necessarily in that order. Like I said yesterday – I got to read an early draft of TORCHED. I just searched my Gmail and found the email I sent to Andrea after I finished: Just a quick note to say that I read your ms tonight in a whole giant gulp over the last 3 hours and...
