I’m currently working on a new project that I’m super excited about, and I’m hoping to have more news to share soon. In the meantime, the best place to find and connect with me online is Instagram.

Breathless Reads Recap

I’m home from Breathless Reads, and it was AMAZING. Yes, it was exhausting, with several pre-dawn wake-up calls, 8 cities, 10 bookstore signings, 9 school visits, 1 conference, 1 booksellers’ dinner packed into 12 days. But it was also SO MCUH FUN. To be honest, if you’d told me on the first night (full of stage-fright and jangling nerves), that I would be sad when it ended two weeks later, I wouldn’t have believed you. But, oh, I am. As much as I love being home with The Playwright and Monkey and my own schedule, I miss the other Breathless ladies! Andrea Cremer, Marie Lu, and Beth Revis are wonderful and generous and hilarious women, not to mention smart and talented writers, and I adore them and am so glad to count them as new friends. I loved each and every one of the bookstore events. It was lovely to...

All Things Breathless

Tomorrow I leave for Chicago for the Breathless Reads tour! For the next 12 days, I’ll be touring with three other amazing Penguin authors: Marie Lu (LEGEND), Beth Revis (ACROSS THE UNIVERSE and A MILLION SUNS), and Andrea Cremer (NIGHTSHADE, WOLFSBANE, and BLOODROSE). We’ll be coming to Chicago, DC, NYC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and LA — including a bunch of school visits and a stop at the first annual Passion & Prose conference. I’ve been joking a lot on twitter about how nervous I am (even when I was doing lots of theatre, I was always prone to stage fright), but I am also tremendously flattered to be included on this tour. It’s an amazing opportunity for a debut writer! Penguin has been incredibly generous, and they’re doing loads of fun promo for the tour. For instance, you can take a quiz to find out which of our heroes...

BORN WICKED Launch Party

Hi! I have my first real event tonight — a teen book club at Alexandria’s Hooray for Books! — and then I leave for Chicago tomorrow for Breathless Reads. I have been spending my afternoon watching last night’s Downton Abbey (yay, Sybil! Boo, Lord Grantham! Shut up, Mary!), and trying not to throw up. I am kind of terrified of public speaking. But I am really excited to meet readers! Hopefully I will get past the nervousness SOON. Anyway, I shall share pics from the launch party to distract myself. It was SO much fun. Like a wedding — there were all of these lovely people from various parts of my life (college, high school, writer friends, theatre friends) showing up to celebrate with me. There were about 75 of us at Sova, our local coffee shop/wine bar. The bartender made blue Cosmos called Born Wickeds, and Menus catering delivered...

Thrice Interview: THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST

Hi! Today I’m celebrating the release of E.M. Danforth’s THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST, which launched on Tuesday! This book is getting some amazing reviews.I bought it on Tuesday when I was at B&N and I can’t wait to read it. I am a firm believer that everyone should be able to see themselves reflected in stories, and there are not enough books about girls who like to kiss girls! When Cameron Post’s parents die suddenly in a car crash, her shocking first thought is relief. Relief she’ll never have to tell them that, hours earlier, she had been kissing a girl.  But that relief soon turns to heartbreak, as Cam is forced to move in with her conservative aunt Ruth. She knows that from this point on, her life will forever be different. Survival in Miles City, Montana, means blending in and not making waves, and Cam becomes an expert...

Thank you (Release Day)

Yesterday was amazing. I woke up to a flood of tweets and Facebook messages and emails. I woke up to an incredible show of support from friends from all parts of my life: people I haven’t talked to since high school graduation, college friends, writer friends, theatre friends, family, and writers and bloggers and readers all over. It was wonderful to see how many people were excited for me, were sharing in my celebration, and took the time out of their own busy days to send me a message. I was touched by how many friends went to a bookstore yesterday to buy a copy of my book and send me a picture. I just…thank you. Thank you so, so much. I hope I am as supportive of your dreams, whatever they may be. In the afternoon, The Playwright and I went out to some bookstores! I was basically psychotic...
