Thrice Interview: SOME QUIET PLACE
Hi! Today we are celebrating the release of Kelsey Sutton’s SOME QUIET PLACE– which debuted today! Happy book birthday, Kelsey!!
They say: Elizabeth Caldwell doesn’t feel emotions . . . she sees them. Longing, Shame, and Courage materialize around her classmates. Fury and Resentment appear in her dysfunctional home. They’ve all given up on Elizabeth because she doesn’t succumb to their touch. All, that is, save one—Fear. He’s intrigued by her, as desperate to understand the accident that changed Elizabeth’s life as she is herself.
Elizabeth and Fear both sense that the key to her past is hidden in the dream paintings she hides in the family barn. But a shadowy menace has begun to stalk her, and try as she might, Elizabeth can barely avoid the brutality of her life long enough to uncover the truth about herself. When it matters most, will she be able to rely on Fear to save her.
I say: I haven’t read this one yet, but it sounds intriguing! And how creepy-gorgeous is that cover?!
Now for our interview with Kelsey:
1. Describe your main character in 3 adjectives + a noun.
Elizabeth is a detached, struggling, lost girl.
2. Describe your book in 3 adjectives + a noun.
SOME QUIET PLACE is a mysterious, whimsical, dark mystery.
3. Describe yourself in 3 adjectives + a noun.
I’m a young, determined, sometimes strange writer. Okay, that was a lie. I’m almost always strange. (JS: Ha!)
4. If you could travel to any 3 countries, what would they be?
Italy, UK, and Ireland. (JS: Italy & Ireland are on my list, too!)
5. If you could take any 3 non-writing-related classes, what would they be?
Astronomy, art, and music. I’ve actually dabbled in most of these and failed miserably.
6. If you could have any 3 alternate careers, what would they be?
Agent, editor, or librarian. Can you tell I like books? (JS: Yes! I love this answer!)
7. What are your 3 favorite flowers?
Roses, orchids, and gardenias.
8. What are your 3 favorite foods?
Cheese, cottage cheese, and anything covered in cheese. Are you sensing a theme? (JS: I love cheese too! But NOT cottage cheese. It grosses me out!)
9. What are your 3 favorite books?
So hard to answer! But I would have to go with DAUGHTER OF THE FOREST by Juliet Marillier, THE HOST by Stephenie Meyer, and A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY by Libba Bray
Thanks so much for playing, Kelsey! I hope you are doing something fun to celebrate today!
