I’m currently working on a new project that I’m super excited about, and I’m hoping to have more news to share soon. In the meantime, the best place to find and connect with me online is Instagram.

Contest Winner + Fashion Friday

Thank you so much for all the compliments on the new site! I’m so happy you guys like it. And I really appreciate all the excitement for BORN WICKED. Alas, there can only be one winner, and that is… Lauren from 365 Days of Reading! If you didn’t win this one, don’t despair–there will be another contest on September 7! I’m a little sad today because I’d planned to be leaving right now for a spa bachelorette weekend for my friend Liz. It was supposed to include massages, sailing, browsing cute little shops, drinking wine, and eating crabcakes by the Bay. We had to postpone because of the stupid hurricane. But my plans for tonight now include cupcakes, sushi, wine, and seeing my friend Alissa’s adorable new puppy. So I can’t complain too much. Also, I am expecting these to show up at my door any time now.      ...

New Site Contest

To celebrate my pretty new website and blog (designed by the lovely Madeira James), I thought I’d have a contest. Would you like to win one of these?           (I hope the answer is yes.) Super-easy this time: all you have to do is leave a comment below. But I’ll love you a little extra if you RT the contest on twitter or Facebook. The contest is open internationally until Friday at noon. Also, a word on readers & reviews: If you are one of the almost 1500 people who’ve added BORN WICKED to-read on Goodreads, thank you! It makes me really happy! I love seeing what other people are reading and what they liked–and didn’t like, too. From a reader’s perspective I find Goodreads amazing, but I only keep track of my 4 and 5 star reads to avoid potential writer-colleague awkwardness. You can find...

Fashion Friday

I adore these shoes, both by Poetic License. Sweet Ending in Eggplant or the Backlash in Red? Or Backlash in Brown? What do you guys think?                     I think I might realistically wear the red (or brown–I love those shiny gold laces!) more often. But the pink is so sweet! I’m in Salt Lake City this weekend helping my little sister get settled in for grad school. There were some traveling snafus last night, but I am now all settled in at the charming Beehive Tea Room, enjoying cranberry-orange scones and a fresh-brewed raspberry-mint iced tea. Once I catch up on my blogs, I’m going back to my hotel to do some writing. And when my sister gets out of orientation, I’m looking forward to spending some time with her. I’m going to make her take me to the King’s English. Visiting bookstores...

ARCs

The Playwright woke me up this morning by bringing me a box filled with my books. It was pretty much the best thing ever. Forgive the crappy iPhone quality; the colors are much more vivid in person. They are GORGEOUS. The ARCs have a velvet-touch cover and shiny coppery foil and, oh, they are so PRETTY. Editor Ari wrote the nicest letter to readers inside. And they have all my words! For people to read! It’s really kind of incredible. I have a book! And it’s all book-shaped! I am very happy.

Book 2: Rough Draft

Thanks to everyone who entered my 6 months to BORN WICKED contest! The winner is the lovely Jenn Rush! Look for another giveaway on September 7–which will include an ARC of my very own! So, I was going to write a 5 Things on Friday post, all, la, I am going to Truckeroo tonight! Truckeroo is a festival with a bunch of DC food trucks and I am excited. There’s a popsicle truck, and as you may have noticed, I am newly obsessed with popsicles. They have a guac pop that everyone else I know is horrified at the thought of but I really want to try it. Alas, I looked at their menu and they are not featuring the guac pop this week! But they do have a peach mint iced tea one. It shall be mine. Anyway, the truth is, I’m kind of a bundle of doubt monsters over...
